Wilsons-House

It has been confirmed by TV Guide that Cameron, Chase and Foreman will all be returning to "House" in season four.  In what capacity, however, we do not know.

It seems that four new people have been added to the cast, all of whom are going to be the new set of ducklings: Olivia Wilde, Kal Penn, Peter Jacobson, and Anne Dudek.

So, the cast just went from six to ten.  I'm really not sure how they're going to handle this.

You might have noticed that Wilsons-House has been, well, dead for the last couple of months.  Or maybe not.

Truthfully, our troubles are many here at this club, but chief among them are that your droogs are all very busy.  San-Tropez has spent most of her time of late at GHP.  holidame is working several jobs.  And I, itainohime, have been working on the second draft of a novel.  Obviously, real life must take precedence over the Internets.  After all, tragically, I can't make money from writing House/Wilson fanwanks.

I will be working on adding in all the new members to the Ducklings list this evening, as well as (hopefully) adding in some fanarts and storrehs to the journal archives.  In other words, I'm gonna dust off the club and try to set it to rights.

In my defense, I have been working on a House/Wilson evidence list, which I will upload to the club when I have completed it.  The first season's the sketchiest one so far as the details go, so I look forward to getting feedback from y'all.

I've been pillaging the Internets to my weaselly black heart's content, but I have still heard nothing new about Foreman permanently leaving the show.  I have heard, though, as I think I've noted already, that next week will have no House, and the week after's the season finale.

I have, on the other hand, seen the new poll that the official FOX "House" site has up.  It's asking whether or not viewers want to see House in a relationship with Honey.  The choices are "Yes", "No, I want to see him with Cameron", "No, I want to see him with Cuddy", and "No, I don't like any of those choices [which is, of course, code for House/Wilson at this point]".  I know that all of you will do the right thing, and go vote on that poll early and often.

Anyhow!  Last night.  Wilson getting high--that was pure fried comedy-gold.  In fact, every scene with House and Wilson last night was golden.  It was exactly the sort of dickens they used to get up to in Seasons 1 and 2, and it was great to see a strong return to their old dynamic.  I'm endlessly amused by watching the two of them compete over who's doping whom.

Wilson being on antidepressants was, while sad, also unsurprising and realistic.  I'm actually sort of glad that they're taking him in that direction.  The guy's under a hell of a lot of pressure, and if he weren't depressed, I'd think he was a sociopath--or, you know, House.  And he's not that bad yet.  

Also, while we were watching last night's episode, the scene where House is snoozing away came on.  Becca/holidame remarked "When he rolls over, Wilson's gonna be in the bed beside him", or something to that effect.  Anyhow, it wasn't true, BUT IT SHOULD BE.  House is one of those shows where it's rather easy to end most of the scenes with the phrase "... and then, they had sex".

Anyhow, I am very tired, and this is not very good.  Let's see if you can do better in the comments, 'ey?

Okay, according to the invaluable House M.D. Guide, "House" is going to be pre-empted on May 22, three weeks from now.  I think it could be because of something "American Idol"-related, but it could also be that there aren't enough episodes: May 29th's episode is set to be the season finale.  Either way, expect it when it happens.

Should you be interested in the Fate O' Foreman, his final scheduled episode is the season finale.  He'll be making appearances for the rest of the season, though, in different capacities.  I have not heard yet whether or not he'll be permanently leaving the show, because they're keeping it all under wraps.  He might very well be leaving for a while, or forever.  I'll be sure to post whenever I hear something about it; it's not House/Wilson related, but a shake-up in the cast is still relevant to the show.

3. To officially join, add Wilsons-House to your friends list.  When you do this, be certain that you have our Journals turned on!  It will be the only way that you will be notified of updates, new members, contests, or club business.

If you have the ability to add headers or footnotes to your journal (i.e. you are a subscriber), please place either the club's icon or a link to the club's main page there.  If you do not have that ability, please provide a link-up in your sig file.  We're a young club, and we need the pageviews.  

WHAT WE DON'T DO:

1. We will not host or link to art from other pairings in the show, including Hugh Laurie/Robert Sean Leonard slash.  You can like it, but you won't find it here.  Sorry.  
2. We do not accept any of the following: rape, shota, loli, pedophilia, bestiality, inflation art, anthro/furry, or any art/story that stands in violation of deviantArt's policies and rules.  This includes the uploading of screencaps as original art/icons.
3. It is up to our discretion as to whether or not a story or picture crosses the line, and no whining will be tolerated on the subject.  If you think your story or artwork that contains one of these might be good enough to pass our mods, feel free to send it in, but do not expect anything.
4. We do not feel, as a club, that we should take positions on flamewars, or on member bannings.  It's not that we don't sympathize--it's just that such things are beyond the scope of this club.  This is for House/Wilson fanning, and nothing else.

A NOTE ON FLAMES VS. OPINIONS

Since the club is getting bigger, I feel that the club's official stance on flaming and flamewars should be laid out.  Debate's a part of any fandom, and it's considered by the staff to be a good and fun thing to have.  There's a difference between flaming someone, though, and expressing your opinion.  So, for the record, we consider a flame to be a personal attack on someone, NOT necessarily their favorite pairing/show.  For these purposes, telling someone "I hate House/Cuddy" is an opinion; telling someone "You're an idiot for liking House/Cuddy" is a flame.

Debate and arguments are one thing; flames are another.  If any member of this club is caught instigating a flame war, not only will you be booted from the club, but you will also be banned from the club's main page.  Depending on the severity, we might also recommend you to be permanently banned from deviantArt.  We want the club to stay fun, damn it.  

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR SWAG (or someone else's, if you're feeling generous)

Our official policy here is to be one big collection for House/Wilson fanworks, or fanworks related directly to House or Wilson individually.  With that goal in mind, we'll be adding all kinds of stuff up here as we find the time and ability to do so.  However, we're going to miss stuff, as that is the nature of life.  If you've written or drawn some House/Wilson stuff and want to see it up here, please Note the club itself ( Wilsons-House ), or one of the club's droogs ( itainohime, holidame, or San-Tropez ).  In your Note, include a link to the deviation and any warnings about its content (spoilers or sexual content, for example) that might be relevant.

Leaving a comment to a Journal, or to the main page, is not considered an acceptable way to submit.  Don't do it.  Just don't.

If your work is linked to from this club, and you don't want it up here, don't despair.  You can Note any of the above folks and let them know that you'd like the link taken down.  No reason is required, and no questions will be asked.  We're very amiable people.  

HOW ALL THIS MESS WORKS

DeviantArt has a policy against clubs being permitted to Favourite the art of their members.  This policy is in place to prevent people from being able to create clone galleries.  For instance, if I were to Favourite my own art under this club, it's viewed as technically having it posted to two accounts, and is therefore a violation of policy.  A violation like that would cause the club founders, and possibly most/all of its members, to be permanently banned.

We understand that slashers are nervous enough as it is about their art being banned without the extra stress of worrying about their clubs causing such a ban, and because of that, we are making use of our Journals to archive everything.  Currently, there will be two Journal-galleries, one for fanart and one for fanfiction.  As the club grows, we might be able to add in more, but for now, that's it.  As more fanfiction and fanart are collected, they will be added to the Journals, which will be sent automatically to your inbox, should you have that capacity turned on (see?  There's a point to it, after all!).

Last week, as astute members will note, there was no Fanwank to be had.  This is because, in spite of the amusement I wrought from one of Wilson's ex-wives suggesting that House was one of the reasons why her marriage was ruined, Mother Nature struck again.  I missed the last ten minutes or so of the show due to weather coverage.  This time, it was justified; I think about ten people died in the tornados last week.  So I wasn't angry, in the end--just sad, all around.

So this week, it was a bit of a surprise to learn that Foreman's patient actually died.  I'd been wondering if they weren't going to resurrect her somehow, but I guess I got my answer.

House and Wilson act like a married couple.  That is the end of the conversation, damn it.  If nothing else, they pick at each other like two people who've been hitched for twenty years and have gotten so used to each other that the occasional sniping is the only way to keep it interesting.  The "You're pathetic", "No, you're pathetic" conversation made me , and I don't know about you guys, but the new cane rules entire galaxies with an iron fist.  Flames are win, and "Highway to Hell" is also win.

I still think it's profound that House has apologized to Wilson--and that it's not the first time.  It made me think of the end of the Tritter arc, when House seemed to be going through a laundry list of apologies as part of his "rehab", which was a dandy excuse to say such things.

Now, what I've been pondering specifically regards the whole being a bully vs. being a coward thing (also Foreman, but I'll get to that in a second).  House believes, in a nutshell, that doctors are the experts and should make all the decisions about care, and that lying, cheating and bullying are all acceptable ways to trick stupid patients into getting the care he wants them to have.  While he's right to a point, I think that actually got disproved, to a point, in the last couple of episodes.  House bullying people into getting treatments is only acceptable when, as he says, it is the correct treatment.  Foreman bullied the PotW last week into getting the "correct" treatment, which killed her.  This week, House bullied the parents into doing various treatments, most of which, as we know, were wrong.

Really, the whole "I know what's best for you, dammit" idea only applies when you actually know what's best for a patient.  Sometimes, House doesn't know what's wrong.  Sometimes it's the complete opposite of his diagnosis.  And sometimes, he's wrong in assuming that all patients want to live.  There are lots of people who'll do anything to extend their lifespans by five minutes, but there are lots of people who, on hearing certain diagnoses, would rather die in comfort than buy themselves a few months.  House should know--he was the one who, as we learned in "Three Stories", would rather risk death than give up his leg.  Sometimes, there are sacrifices to quality of life that patients don't want to make, and House needs to suck it up and recognize.

Of course, that makes me ponder whether or not he's turned into such a tyrant over treatment because this is exactly what happened to him: someone made a medical decision about his treatment without his permission, and he's still pissed about it.  I'd say that this is too petty, but then again, we're talking about House.

Anyhow, onwards.  House and Wilson should give up and start living together again.  For God's sake, they've already got the yappy little dog.  All they need is to start calling hair gel "product".

As to Foreman, I've missed him a lot over the last, oh, I don't know, entire season.  He's my favorite duckling, and there hasn't been enough of him IMO.  So the last few episodes were nice, until early on in this one, when my oh-shit-odometer started to beep away and I started to think, "He's gonna quit".  And I was right.  I hate being right.
